Ms. Ummay Salma Tamanna is a dedicated and accomplished professional with a strong academic background in the field of Food Technology & Nutritional Science. She holds a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) from Mawlana Bhashani Science & Technology University (MBSTU) and completed her MPH with a concentration in Community Nutrition from Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS). Ms. Ummay achieved remarkable academic success, consistently earning high grades and demonstrating her commitment to excellence.

Throughout her academic journey, Ms. Tamanna actively engaged in research and projects, showcasing her expertise. Noteworthy projects include the quality determination of various edible oils and her theses on “Bioaccumulation of Heavy Metals in Fish in Bangladesh” (M.Sc.) and “Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) and Dietary Patterns during Pregnancy” (MPH).

Ms. Tamanna’s hands-on experience extends to diverse fieldwork initiatives, such as product development, participatory rural appraisal on nutritional status, and surveys focusing on pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and under-five children.

In her professional career, Ms. Tamanna has held key positions, including Dietician at the Medical College for Women and Hospital, Health Education Officer at BIHS General Hospital – Bangladesh Diabetic Association, and Clinical Dietician & Nutrition Consultant at various prestigious institutions. Her role has involved clinical nutrition, consultancy, and health education, showcasing her versatility and practical knowledge.

Complementing her professional roles, Ms. Tamanna has undergone specialized training in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Critical Care Nutrition, Diabetes Nutrition, and Nutritional Care. Additionally, she has honed her literary skills as a columnist for renowned daily newspapers and has contributed to the book “Shorolipir Ostokothon”.
