Responsibilities & Context

 

  • Setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and investigations
  • Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples and calibrating instruments
  • Recording and analyzing data
  • Demonstrating procedures
  • Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment
  • Writing reports, reviews and summarize data
  • Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients from Center and home
  • Explaining the process of drawing blood clearly to a patient
  • Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure
  • Applying dressings to the wound created by drawing blood
  • Sending blood samples to testing laboratories with proper labeling
  • Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returned after testing
  • Maintaining an organized and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines
  • Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process if the patient requests them
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
