Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Zahir Sadique is a highly accomplished Professor of Paediatrics and Consultant, with extensive expertise in paediatric pulmonology, neonatal care, and intensive care management. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the Bangladesh Army Medical Corps, he is widely respected as a clinician, academic leader, and mentor, committed to advancing paediatric healthcare through clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and research.

Dr. Sadique completed his MBBS from Khulna Medical College under the University of Rajshahi. He subsequently earned his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University of Dhaka, followed by MCPS and FCPS in Paediatrics from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). Further strengthening his subspecialty expertise, he obtained a Fellowship in Paediatric Pulmonology from BSH&I.

Throughout his career as a Consultant Paediatrician in the Bangladesh Army, Dr. Sadique has provided exemplary clinical leadership across major military hospitals. He has played a pivotal role in the management of Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), while also delivering specialized paediatric services. Alongside his clinical responsibilities, he has been deeply involved in academic mentorship, guiding postgraduate trainees and contributing to the enhancement of institutional healthcare standards within the military medical system.
Currently, Dr. Sadique serves as an Advisor Specialist in Paediatrics at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka—one of the country’s premier tertiary care centres. In this role, he provides expert consultation on complex paediatric cases, supervises specialized clinical units, mentors senior healthcare professionals, and contributes to strategic healthcare planning and quality improvement initiatives.

Dr. Sadique also gained valuable international experience during his tenure as a Consultant Paediatrician at Armed Forces Hospital, Kuwait. There, he worked in a multicultural clinical environment, delivering advanced care for a wide spectrum of paediatric and neonatal conditions while contributing to the implementation of modern clinical protocols and patient safety standards.

Beyond the bedside and boardroom, Dr. Sadique is a prolific and widely read writer on health and medical issues. Known for his clarity of thought, wit, and engaging style, he contributes regularly to leading national and international newspapers, journals, and social media, bridging the gap between medical science and public understanding.
With extensive experience in clinical governance, high-volume paediatric service management, advanced neonatal ventilation, and postgraduate medical education, Dr. Sadique continues to play a significant role in shaping the future of paediatric medicine.
