Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam is an Associate Professor of Neurology with extensive experience in clinical neurology, medical education, and faculty development. He is recognized for his strong academic foundation and dedication to advancing neurological care through evidence-based practice, teaching, and research. With years of experience in both clinical and academic settings, he has developed particular expertise in movement disorders, headache and migraine management, and the application of innovative treatment approaches.

He is currently serving as Associate Professor of Neurology at the Centre for Medical Education, Mohakhali, Dhaka, where he plays an active role in academic development, teaching, and faculty training initiatives. In this capacity, he contributes to strengthening medical education through mentoring healthcare professionals and supporting curriculum development, while remaining closely engaged in clinical neurology.

Previously, Dr. Islam served as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, where he was instrumental in delivering specialized neurological care and training medical students and professionals. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Registrar at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, gaining valuable experience in both clinical practice and academic instruction.

He completed his MBBS from the University of Dhaka and subsequently earned his MD in Neurology from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). He is also currently pursuing a Master’s in Medical Education, reflecting his ongoing commitment to enhancing teaching methodologies and academic excellence in healthcare.

Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam is widely appreciated for his compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. He takes time to listen attentively to patients, ensuring they feel heard and understood, and explains neurological conditions in a clear and reassuring manner. His empathetic attitude, combined with clinical precision, helps reduce patient anxiety and builds strong trust with both patients and their families. He is particularly known for his patience in managing chronic neurological conditions, providing continuous guidance, and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

His areas of expertise include clinical neurology, movement disorders, headache and migraine management, and medical education. He has a special interest in the use of botulinum toxin in neurological conditions and has been actively involved in conducting workshops and presentations on botulinum toxin injection techniques, as well as faculty development programs.

Through his combined roles as a clinician, educator, and researcher, Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam continues to contribute to the advancement of neurological care and medical education, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
