Dental Technologist
Responsibilities & Context
- Collaborates with dentists, orthodontists, and other dental lab technicians;
- Read specifications, and prescriptions and examine impressions or models to determine the design of dental products to be developed;
- Builds and repairs dental appliances;
- Makes crowns and bridges, full and partial dentures, dental implants, mouthguards, orthodontics, and other dental appliances;
- Uses common dental lab tools, including porcelain ovens and furnaces, pinning equipment, and lathes;
- Managing supply inventories, performing routine equipment maintenance, and facilitating repairs.
- Documenting processes, as well as adhering to regulations and safety standards;
- Experience on administering dental X-rays;
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment;
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action;
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
