Responsibilities & Context
- Setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and investigations
- Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples and calibrating instruments
- Recording and analyzing data
- Demonstrating procedures
- Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment
- Writing reports, reviews and summarize data
- Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients from Center and home
- Explaining the process of drawing blood clearly to a patient
- Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure
- Applying dressings to the wound created by drawing blood
- Sending blood samples to testing laboratories with proper labeling
- Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returned after testing
- Maintaining an organized and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines
- Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process if the patient requests them
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
