Dr. Bushra Nur Al Chowdhury is a dedicated and skilled Surgical Oncologist with over a decade of experience in Bangladesh’s public healthcare system under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). She completed her MBBS from Jahurul Islam Medical College & Hospital and earned her MS in Surgical Oncology from the National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH).
Throughout her career, Dr. Bushra has developed strong expertise in surgical oncology, perioperative care, and oncology-focused clinical management. She is also actively engaged in research and multidisciplinary treatment planning, contributing to improved cancer care practices.
She currently serves as a Registrar in the Department of Surgical Oncology at NICRH, where she manages oncology patients, assists in complex cancer surgeries, supervises junior doctors, and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic cancer management. Prior to this role, she served as a Medical Officer in the same department, providing pre- and postoperative care, supporting surgical procedures, and contributing to overall clinical coordination. She also worked in the Department of Surgery at Mugda Medical College & Hospital, assisting senior surgeons and managing patient consultations and follow-ups.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Bushra served as a Medical Officer at Parshuram Upazila Health Complex in Feni, where she provided primary care, handled emergencies, conducted outpatient services, and facilitated patient referrals. She has been actively involved in frontline healthcare delivery during public health challenges and continuously develops her skills through ongoing academic and professional training.
With a solid clinical foundation and a deep commitment to compassionate cancer care, Dr. Bushra Nur Al Chowdhury is known for her empathetic communication, calm demeanor, and patient-centered approach. She takes the time to listen, explain treatment options clearly, and provide emotional reassurance to patients and their families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
