Dr. Hosne Jahan is a highly accomplished medical professional who recently retired from an illustrious 30-year-long career in government services with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) of Bangladesh. Throughout her distinguished service, Dr. Jahan exhibited unparalleled dedication and enthusiasm in various capacities, leaving a prominent mark on the healthcare landscape of Bangladesh.
In her last position, Dr. Jahan served as a Consultant (Imaging) at Mohammadpur Fertility Services and Training Centre (MFSTC) and the 100 Bedded Maternal and Child (MCH) Hospital in Dhaka. In this role, she brought her wealth of experience to the forefront, contributing significantly to the enhancement of imaging services and patient care. Her tenure in this position marked the culmination of decades of service marked by integrity, honesty, and a relentless commitment to improving maternal and child health.
Dr. Jahan’s extensive educational background underscores her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. She completed her MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College in 1988 and earned her Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Reproductive Child Health (RCH) from the University of Dhaka in 2004. She then obtained a Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (DMU) from the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in 2007.
Throughout her career, Dr. Jahan demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a keen interest in educational initiatives. She has also completed numerous courses and training on topics such as child health, primary health, nuclear medicine and ultrasonogram, vascular doppler and TVS from notable institutions such as Mymensingh Medical College, Dhaka Shishu Hospital, NIPORT, BSMMU and more.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Jahan maintained a disciplined and loyal approach to her work, earning the respect of her colleagues and higher authorities. She is also an active member of the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).
Her areas of interest, including general ultrasonography, gynaecological imaging, and teaching, showcase her enduring passion for advancing healthcare and medical education in Bangladesh.
