Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman is a dedicated and skilled nephrologist with years of clinical, academic, and research experience in the management of kidney diseases, dialysis, renal transplantation, and diabetic kidney disease. He completed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College under Rajshahi University and then completed his MD in Nephrology from the National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology under Bangladesh Medical University (formerly PG Hospital). Additionally, he has completed a certificate course on Diabetology from BIRDEM, reflecting his commitment to comprehensive patient care in nephrology.

Dr. Zillur Rahman currently serves as a nephrologist at the Nephrology Department of the National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, where he manages patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and electrolyte disorders. He supervises hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs and actively participates in renal transplantation, including donor and recipient evaluation as well as perioperative and postoperative management. Dr. Zillur Rahman is proficient in a range of ultrasound-guided procedures, including renal biopsy, femoral and jugular venous catheter insertion, and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement. He also contributes to the training of Phase-A and Phase-B residents and medical students, sharing his expertise and fostering the next generation of nephrology specialists.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a residential medical officer in the Nephrology Department at Square Hospital, Dhaka, where he conducted inpatient rounds, managed patients in the ICU with renal complications, and oversaw hemodialysis treatment. His research interests focus on chronic kidney disease, with a publication under process on the association between thyroid function status and different stages of CKD.

Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman is a highly skilled nephrologist with extensive expertise in renal replacement therapies, including hemodialysis, CRRT, and peritoneal dialysis. He also demonstrates strong proficiency in kidney transplantation management and ultrasound-guided procedures. Beyond his clinical excellence, Dr. Rahman is widely admired for his compassionate and patient-centered approach—treating each individual with empathy, respect, and genuine care throughout their healing journey.
