Dr. Mita is a highly skilled endocrinologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of endocrine disorders. She currently serves as a Consultant Endocrinologist at BSMMU, where she plays a vital role in patient care, medical education, and specialized clinical services. In her capacity, she oversees both outpatient and inpatient treatment, mentors postgraduate students pursuing MD and FCPS degrees, and manages a specialized osteoporosis clinic.

Dr. Mita’s academic journey is marked by excellence and dedication. She earned her MBBS degree from Sylhet Women’s Medical College, where she was awarded honors in Pathology and Pharmacology. Further advancing her expertise, she successfully completed the Specialty Certificate Exam (SCE) in Endocrinology & Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. She also obtained the prestigious European Board Certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism from the European Society of Endocrinology and holds an MD in Endocrinology & Metabolism from BIRDEM.

Before joining BSMMU, Dr. Mita gained invaluable clinical and academic experience at BIRDEM, where she served as a Resident Doctor, managing both outpatient and inpatient cases, presenting clinical cases, and contributing to journal discussions. She also enriched her teaching portfolio as a Lecturer in Biochemistry at Sylhet Women’s Medical College, where she guided students in understanding the complexities of biochemistry and its application in medicine.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of endocrine disorders, including diabetes and its complications, thyroid disorders, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), infertility, growth disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases, sexual disorders, obesity, osteoporosis, parathyroid diseases, electrolyte imbalances, pubertal disorders, and calcium and vitamin D deficiencies.

Dr. Mita is an active member of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society and the Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and Diabetologists of Bangladesh (ACEDB), where she remains committed to advancing endocrinology through professional collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
