Dr. Muhammad Nafees Hussain Amit is a dedicated and accomplished physician with broad clinical experience in internal medicine, respiratory medicine, and emergency care. He is committed to evidence-based practice, lifelong learning, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient. Throughout his career, he has built a strong academic and clinical foundation while serving in several of Bangladesh’s leading medical institutions.
Dr. Amit completed his MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College and later earned a Certificate Course in Diabetology from the Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences. He further strengthened his academic profile by passing MRCP (Part 2) from the Royal College of Physicians and achieving FCPS (Medicine) from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He began his medical journey with a comprehensive internship at Mymensingh Medical College & Hospital, followed by service as an Honorary Medical Officer in the Departments of Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Neurology at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He then joined the Bangladesh Civil Service as an Assistant Surgeon at an Upazila Health Complex, Faridpur.
After serving for several years as an Indoor Medical Officer in the Department of Medicine at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and further enhancing his acute care expertise as an Emergency Medical Officer at Syed Shahid Nazrul Islam Medical College in Kishoreganj, he is currently working as a Registrar in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Mohakhali.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Amit is actively involved in academic research and has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. His work spans topics including serum D-dimer abnormalities in acute leukemia, neurological case analyses, and the prevalence and risk factors of HIV, HBV, and HCV infections among key populations—demonstrating his dedication to advancing medical knowledge.
