Dr. Nahid Akter is a dedicated nephrologist with extensive experience in managing kidney-related diseases and providing specialized care to patients with acute and chronic kidney conditions. She completed her MBBS from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital and then obtained her MD in Nephrology from Dhaka Medical College & Hospital. Dr. Nahid Akhter has also completed Part I of her FCPS with a specialization in Medicine.

Dr. Nahid Akter is currently serving as a Consultant in Nephrology at Dhaka Community Medical College & Hospital and the Retired Government Employees Hospital. She has also previously worked as a Specialist in Nephrology at Evercare Hospital, and as an HMO in Medicine at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.

Her expertise spans various aspects of nephrology, including the management of patients undergoing hemodialysis and kidney transplants. She has a special interest in treating urinary tract infections and glomerulonephritis and is highly skilled in managing patients with acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, and diabetes-related kidney complications.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Nahid Akter is actively involved in nephrology research, with several notable publications to her credit. Her research includes a study on the characteristics and renal outcomes of postpartum acute kidney injury requiring hemodialysis, published in the SAS Journal of Surgery. She has also contributed to the understanding of infection-related glomerulonephritis in adults through her work in the International Journal of Nephrology Research. Additionally, she has explored thrombotic and infective complications in non-tunneled central venous hemodialysis catheters, published in the Asian Journal of Research in Nephrology.
