Dr. Najma Akhter is an exceptional Sonography expert with 14 years of experience in her field. She is a patient-oriented doctor who has the best interest of patients in mind when providing treatment and care. She is a keen learner and continues expanding her field knowledge and expertise through different certifications and activities.

Dr. Najma has been performing high-fidelity ultrasounds and has a proven track record of reliable patient care in both government & and non-government organizations. Dr. Najma earned her MBBS degree from the National Medical College and Hospital and further pursued specialization, obtaining Postgraduate Training in Gynae and Obs from DMCH. She also obtained a Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Ultrasound from CMUD and Postgraduate Training in Radiology and Imaging from Dhaka CMH. Lastly, she completed CCD from BIRDEM.

Dr. Najma has held various positions in renowned healthcare institutions across Bangladesh. Since 2016 she has served as a full-time Sonologist at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. There, she gained a deep understanding of first-hand patient care by performing numerous ultrasound procedures, recognizing and differentiating between normal and abnormal readings as well as assisting as a Gynecologist in certain procedures such as amniocentesis.

From 2017 to 2018, she served as a Sonographer and Medical Officer at BRAC Maternity Hospital, where she practiced and perfected her methods of ultrasonography as well as delicate patient care for various types of procedures. Lastly, Dr Najma continues working as a part-time Sonographer at Popular Hospital in Dhaka to further extend her knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Najma’s commitment to providing and caring for her patients extends further if we look at her other works with CMH which involved her serving as a Medical Officer in the Children’s Welfare Center.

She is also a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has obtained Obs Vascular Doppler Ultrasound & TVS Certification and is Certified by CMUD, Daffodil University. Dr Najma is a compassionate and dedicated individual with a mission to serve and help the communities surrounding her.
