Dr. Obaidur Rahman is an esteemed dermatologist and venereologist with an extensive professional experience. He obtained his medical degree from Rangpur Medical College in 1987, followed by a one-year internship at the same medical college hospital.

After completing his internship, Dr. Obaid embarked on his career as a medical officer at Dhaka City Corporation Mahanagar Hospital, where he served until 1991. Subsequently, he successfully passed the BCS examination and joined the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as an Assistant Surgeon, providing medical services in both rural and urban medical centres. Throughout his tenure, he acquired valuable experience and made significant contributions to the healthcare sector.

Dr. Obaid’s professional journey includes working at renowned tertiary-level hospitals such as Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, and Shaheed Shurawardhy Medical College Hospital in the Department of Dermatology and Venereology. He served in various capacities, including medical officer, Assistant Registrar, and Registrar. In 2001, he earned his post-graduation diploma degree in Dermatology and Venereology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth, Dr. Obaid achieved promotions throughout his career. He advanced to the position of junior consultant, where he contributed his expertise at Shahid Shurawardhy Medical College Hospital. Subsequently, he earned the esteemed rank of senior consultant and was stationed at Tangail Sadar Hospital. Additionally, he was appointed to the Central Police Hospital under the Ministry of Home Affairs further expanding his scope of medical services.

Dr. Obaid is a Life Member of the Bangladesh Dermatology Society exemplifying his commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning. He is also a proud member of the Psoriasis Club, SPIN, and South Asian Sexual Medicine. During his service period, he attended many seminars both at home and abroad further enhancing his knowledge and contributing to the advancement of dermatology and venereology.
