Dr. Sharmin Akter is a dedicated and highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 13 years of professional experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research. With a strong academic foundation and extensive training in her field, she is committed to providing exceptional patient care while contributing to medical education and research.

Dr. Sharmin Akter began her academic journey by obtaining her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) from Dhaka University. Driven by her passion for advancing her expertise, she earned her FCPS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).

Her professional career reflects a strong dedication to patient care and surgical excellence. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Dhaka Community Medical College Dental Unit, she is actively involved in training and mentoring future dental professionals. She has also served as the Chief Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a renowned dental center, where she provides specialized treatment to a diverse patient population. Before this, she worked as a Dental Surgeon at Dhaka EPZ Hospital, further strengthening her expertise in dental and maxillofacial procedures.

Dr. Sharmin Akter’s extensive training background emphasizes her commitment to professional development. She has undergone specialized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Dhaka Dental College Hospital and other leading medical institutions. Her training includes rotations in General Surgery at Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital, Orthopedics at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and ENT at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, enhancing her multidisciplinary surgical skills. She has also received hands-on experience in emergency care during her tenure in the Casualty department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
