Dr. Shovana Talukder is a dedicated and talented gynaecologist and obstetrician committed to appraising her skills and expertise in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medical College for Women & Hospital, Dhaka.

Before joining the Medical College for Women & Hospital, Dr. Shovana served as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at BLCS Hospital, a leading specialized healthcare facility. This experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of advanced medical technologies and their application in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr. Shovana’s journey in the medical field comprises a role as a Registrar in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Evercare Hospital, Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka. Earlier, she contributed as a Registrar at Shaheed Monsur Ali College & Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka.

In terms of educational qualifications, she obtained the FCPS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2020, following the completion of her MBBS from Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College in 2006.

Academically, Dr. Shovana completed a one-year academic course in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at BSMMU, under the guidance of Professor Parveen Fatima, from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, she pursued training in Laparoscopic Surgery to further enhance her surgical skills.

She underwent a comprehensive three-year training program under the FCPS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) program, including six months at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, one year at Maternal and Child Health Training Institute (MCHTI) Azimpur, and one and a half years at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Dr. Shovana is a registered member of the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). She is also an active member of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Bangladesh (OGSB), reflecting her commitment to professional development and collaboration within the medical community. Dr. Shovana Talukder has a strong academic background, extensive training, and an unwavering dedication to advancing women’s healthcare and treating all her patients with compassion and utmost care.
