Dr. (Lt Col) Md Shazzad Hossain is an accomplished Child Specialist in the Department of
Paediatrics at the Armed Forces Medical College Dhaka and also serves as a Classified Child
Specialist and Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. With
a solid educational background and extensive experience, Dr. Shazzad has made significant
contributions to pediatric healthcare, particularly in gastroenterology.
Dr. Shazzad completed his MBBS in 2007 from the Armed Forces Medical College in Dhaka
Cantonment. Furthering his specialization, he obtained a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2016
from Bangladesh University of Professionals and obtained his FCPS in Pediatrics in 2019 from
Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has also completed post-fellowship
training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, deepening his expertise in
these critical fields.
Dr. Shazzad’s professional experience is highlighted by his active engagement in research. His
studies include the outcomes and complications associated with transcatheter device closure of
Atrial Septal Defects (ASD) at CMH Dhaka. He is currently involved in research on the spectrum
of hepatic involvement in children with dengue infections and exploring the effects of a cow’s
milk-free diet on pediatric chronic constipation.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. (Lt Col) Md Shazzad Hossain holds
professional membership with the Bangladesh Paediatric Association, allowing him to stay
updated on the latest advancements and collaborate in this field. His commitment, unwavering
