A committed leader in child health, she has made significant contributions in clinical care, paediatric oncology, and public health advocacy.

Dr. Kaniz began her medical journey with an MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College, followed by a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from IPGMR, Dhaka. She later earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Reproductive and Child Health from Northern University. Her commitment to specialized care is reflected in her advanced training in paediatric oncology, including hands-on clinical experience at CMH Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Commissioned into the Bangladesh Army in 1983, Dr. Kaniz served with distinction in both Army and Navy medical corps across the country and in international postings. Throughout her extensive career, she has managed a broad spectrum of paediatric cases—from neonatal intensive care (NICU/PICU) to complex oncological conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, thalassemia, and congenital disorders. Her clinical expertise spans all developmental stages, from infancy through adolescence, with postings at several Combined Military Hospitals, including Dhaka, Bogura, Cumilla, and Ghatail.

Dr. Kaniz’s dedication to advancing child and maternal health also led her to pursue training in child care management at BRAC University. Her MPH thesis focused on raising awareness about Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) among parents, underscoring her passion for early diagnosis, prevention, and education.

Beyond her medical contributions, Dr. Kaniz has been a lifelong advocate for social service. From her early days as a youth volunteer during the Liberation War to organizing free medical camps and participating in disaster relief missions, her commitment to community welfare is deeply rooted and unwavering.

Her exemplary service has earned her numerous accolades, including certificates of appreciation from the Medical Services Authority of Kuwait Armed Forces, the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, and various national and international organizations.
