Maj (Dr.) Shaikh Mohammad Edi Ameen is a distinguished Dermatologist with a rich background in healthcare. With an extensive academic journey and over 29 years of professional experience, Dr. Ameen has made significant contributions to the field of dermatology and venereology.
Dr. Ameen completed his MBBS from Dinajpur Medical College under Rajshahi University, showcasing a strong foundation in medical education. He further pursued his MPH (HM) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), emphasizing public health management. His academic achievements include obtaining DDV from AFMI under BUP and MCPS (Dermatology & Venereology) from BCPS. He has also completed “Grading Course” in Dermatology & Venereology from Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI).
Dr. Ameen has completed Basic & advanced Course on Medical Assistance & protection against Chemical Weapons Incidents organized by Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW, The Hague) held in National Center for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad. He has also completed Voluntary Confidential Counselling & Testing (VCCT) on AIDS organized by UNFPA in Kinshasa.
Dr. Ameen is a Certified Instructor on Medical Management of Chemical Incidents of Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention, Armed Forces Division (BNACWC, AFD).
Dr. Ameen’s career spans diverse roles, reflecting his adaptability and leadership skills. From serving as a Regimental Medical Officer to contributing to UN Peacekeeping Missions, he has showcased dedication and expertise. His tenure as a Medical Officer in various capacities, including at Kuwait Armed Forces and Bangladesh Rifles, demonstrates a global perspective. Dr. Ameen has also excelled in administrative roles, holding positions like Deputy Assistant Military Secretary and Senior Store Officer, showcasing a multifaceted skill set. He was also a nominee for Medical Supply Chain Management expert for UN Headquarters, NY.
Dr. Ameen’s contributions have been acknowledged through various awards, medals, and letters of appreciation. Notably, he received the United Nations Medal on peacekeeping, the BGB Medal for his role in reorganizational reshaping, and the OKP Medal for medical contributions in Kuwait. His outstanding contributions to the Hajj Medical Team in 2019 were acknowledged with a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Bangladesh.
