Dr. Ashik Md. Raihan Chowdhury is a dedicated pediatrician with over a decade of clinical and academic experience, including specialized training in pediatric cardiology. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, high-quality care to children, with particular expertise in managing complex cardiac conditions. His approach emphasizes clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional development.
Dr. Chowdhury completed his MBBS from Shaheed Monsur Ali Medical College under the University of Dhaka. He earned his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) through training at CMH Dhaka under the Armed Forces Medical Institute, and later obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Reproductive and Child Health from North South University. He is currently pursuing MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK).
He is presently serving as a Specialist in the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital, Shyamoli, Dhaka, where he provides comprehensive care for children, including those with congenital and acquired heart diseases. Prior to this role, he worked as a Registrar in the same department, contributing actively to patient management, clinical decision-making, and academic activities.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Chowdhury served as an Assistant Registrar in the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at Ashulia Women & Children Hospital, gaining valuable experience in neonatal and pediatric critical care. He also completed postgraduate fellowship training at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, under the Armed Forces Medical Institute, further strengthening his expertise in pediatric and pediatric cardiology care. In addition, he has served as a Lecturer at Shaheed Monsur Ali Medical College, contributing to undergraduate medical education.
His clinical expertise spans NICU, PICU, and PCICU settings, with a strong focus on congenital heart disease, emergency pediatric care, and evidence-based clinical practice. He is experienced in multidisciplinary teamwork, patient counseling, and managing critical cases in high-pressure environments.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Chowdhury is actively engaged in research and academic activities. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on topics such as congenital heart disease interventions and Kawasaki disease in tertiary care settings. He regularly participates in journal clubs, continuing medical education (CME) programs, and academic seminars, and has presented on contemporary issues in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
He is also involved in community outreach and public health initiatives, including child health awareness programs, medical camps, and maternal and child health fieldwork. Through his work in clinical care, research, and education, Dr. Chowdhury remains committed to advancing pediatric healthcare and improving outcomes for children.
