Dr. Farzana Akter is a dedicated Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon with expertise in reconstructive surgery, burn care, trauma reconstruction, breast surgery, hand surgery, and cosmetic procedures. She is known for her meticulous surgical technique, patient-centered approach, and commitment to restoring both function and confidence through modern reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

She completed her MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital under the University of Dhaka and earned her MS in Plastic Surgery from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery under Bangladesh Medical University. She also completed five years of residency training at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), Dhaka, gaining extensive experience in both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.

Dr. Akter most recently served as a Specialist in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and Burn at Continental Hospital Limited (United Hospital Limited), where she managed a wide range of reconstructive and cosmetic surgical cases.

Her clinical expertise includes reconstructive surgery for complex wounds, chronic ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, vascular disease–related tissue loss, burn care and scar management, trauma reconstruction, breast surgery including reduction, augmentation, mastopexy, and reconstruction, oncoplastic breast reconstruction, hand surgery, and management of congenital hand anomalies such as syndactyly and polydactyly. She also performs head and neck reconstruction, facial plastic and aesthetic surgery, body contouring procedures, liposuction, and rhinoplasty with a focus on natural and aesthetically balanced outcomes.

Dr. Akter has a special interest in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. Her research focused on evaluating surgical outcomes in gynecomastia treatment, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice and improved patient care.

She has participated in numerous advanced workshops and training programs in burn care, ATLS, hand surgery, cleft care, DIEP flap reconstruction, facelift techniques, and oncoplastic breast surgery to stay updated with the latest advancements in plastic surgery.

Known for her compassionate and attentive approach, Dr. Farzana Akter believes Plastic Surgery is not only about restoring appearance but also about rebuilding confidence, dignity, and quality of life.
