Dr. Reaz Mahmud Huda is an esteemed doctor with a specialization in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases & Hospital (NICVD).

Dr. Reaz’s educational qualifications include an FCPS in Cardiology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), which he completed after undergoing four years of rigorous training at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. He also holds an FCPS in Internal Medicine and an MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College & Hospital.

Throughout his career, Dr. Reaz has held various academic and hospital appointments. He served as a Fellow of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases for two years and held the position of Assistant Registrar of Cardiology at the same institute. Additionally, he worked as a Medical Officer of Cardiology and later became a Consultant at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. He has also served as a Consultant at Narayanganj General Hospital.

With his extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Reaz has performed numerous invasive and non-invasive procedures. He has conducted over 2000 coronary angiograms, more than 400 coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures, pacemaker implantations, valvuloplasty procedures, renal artery stenting, peripheral stenting, and cardiac catheterizations. He is also skilled in interpreting ECGs, performing exercise tolerance tests, echocardiography (including transoesophageal echocardiography), and dobutamine stress tests.

Dr. Reaz’s research interests are focused on cardiac conditions, as evidenced by his dissertation on “Metabolic Syndrome and Acute ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction: In-Hospital Outcome” and thesis on “Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical and Angiographic Impact on Patients with Acute ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction.”

Dr. Reaz is an active participant in both national and international seminars, where he shares his research findings and remains up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of cardiology. Notably, he has attended prominent conferences such as the World Congress of Cardiology, where he has presented informative posters on diverse topics including the effects of sustained-release trimetazidine on dysfunctional myocardium and lipid profiles among the adult population in Bangladesh. This demonstrates his commitment to expanding medical knowledge and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular care.
