Dr. Nizam’s career objectives encompass serving as an efficient Laboratory Director and playing a pivotal role as a Professor of Microbiology in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Nizam Uddin has held significant positions in renowned institutions. Prior to his current role, he served as the Head of the Microbiology Department and Academic Coordinator at Armed Forces Medical College, located in Dhaka Cantonment. With a wealth of experience spanning 31 years, he has served as a Clinical Pathologist and Microbiologist in various prestigious establishments such as CMHs (Combined Military Hospitals) and AFIP (Armed Forces Institute of Pathology). Driven by a quest for knowledge and expertise, he has pursued comprehensive training, including post-fellowship programs in Immunology in the United States and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Kolkata’s Tata Medical Centre. Notable accomplishments include the establishment of PCR and LCR labs at AFIP, as well as the development of the Pathology department and PCR Lab at Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital. His contributions extend to Rangpur Cantonment, where he played a key role in establishing two PCR labs and assuming overall responsibility for COVID-19 management.
In addition to his impressive professional achievements, Dr. Nizam Uddin holds a multitude of educational qualifications. He obtained his MBBS from the Sir Salimullah Medical College and earned his FCPS in Microbiology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Nizam Uddin has also garnered certifications in Clinical Pathology (DCP) and holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education (MMEd).
