Officer, Procurement (BRAC Healthcare Ltd.)

Responsibilities & Context

  • Manage end-to-end procurement requisitions, RFQs, comparative statements, and purchase orders in strict compliance with BHL policies, approval thresholds, and audit requirements.
  • Identify, onboard, and maintain a vetted supplier base across pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, consumables, and non-pharma categories, with semi-annual performance evaluations, contract management, and negotiations.
  • Ensure pharmaceutical procurement complies with DGDA regulations through licensed channels; coordinate with pharmacy teams on demand forecasting and stock reconciliation.
  • Monitor expiry dates and enforce proper stock rotation, escalating near-expiry items promptly.
  • Partner with diagnostic, laboratory, imaging, and dental teams to forecast demand and ensure uninterrupted supply of reagents, calibrators, and machine-specific consumables.
  • Optimize par levels across lab and clinical teams to prevent stock-outs and reduce wastage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reorder points across all centers and the central store; conduct regular physical counts and reconcile variances.
  • Identify slow-moving or dead stock and implement FEFO/FIFO practices across all storage locations.
  • Conduct market analysis to benchmark pricing, identify new suppliers, and drive cost savings through strategic sourcing and bulk procurement.
  • Evaluate product alternatives and present comparative cost-quality analyses to management.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and  exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a  key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe  working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members  and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
